The Bichon Frise is a small, hypoallergenic breed of dog belonging to the lap dog category that was originally bred in Spain. They are one of the oldest breeds of dogs, and their name means curled lap dog in French. They typically weigh between 4-8 kgs as adults, and are 23-28 cm tall at the shoulder. Although there are some slight variations in size between individual dogs of this breed, males and females are generally similarly sized.
